Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce an oil base dyestuff of excellent quality in an industrially advantageous manner, by mixing a solvent with a water-soluble dyestuff, a cellulose powder, a specified surfactant and a pH adjuster. CONSTITUTION:An oil and fat dispersible dyestuff is produced by mixing a solvent with a water-soluble dyestuff, a cellulose powder, a condensed ricinoleate of hexaglycerol as a surfactant and a pH adjuster. The condensed ricinoleate contains various polyglycerols and mainly consists of one containing 8 OH groups and having a degree of polymerization of 6. Said cellulose powder is prepared by grinding a crystalline cellulose obtained by treating the xylem of mainly a broadleaf tree with an acid into a powder. Examples of said pH adjuster include citric acid, d-tartaric acid, and phosphoric acid. Examples of said water-soluble dyestuff include red dyestuffs (e.g., anthocyanin), yellow dyestuffs (e.g., carotenoid dyestuffs), blue dyestuffs (e.g., gardenia blue dyestuffs) and brown dyestuffs (e.g., flavone dyestuffs).
