Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:A monoclonal antibody to porcine transmissible gastroenteritis virus. USE:A reagent for detecting porcine transmissible gastroenteritis virus and diagnostic agent for porcine virus infection. PREPARATION:A mouse is immunized with a porcine transmissible gastroenteritis virus to provide muse splenic cells, which are then fused to mouse myelomatous cells by a conventional method to cultivate fused cells having the ability to produce a monoclonal antibody to the porcine transmissible gastroenteritis virus in a culture medium. Alternatively, the fused cells are transplanted to the interior of a mouse abdominal cavity to provide ascitic cancer. Thereby the above-mentioned monoclonal antibody is produced and accumulated in the culture fluid or ascites to collect the afore-mentioned monoclonal antibody from the above-mentioned culture fluid or ascites.
