Abstract
PURPOSE:To rationalize sewage treatment by adding the flocculated sludge obtained by adding a cationic org. high molecular flocculant to activated sludge incorporated with calcium phosphate to org. sewage, and mixing the materials. CONSTITUTION:The flocculated sludge 7 obtained by adding the cationic org. high molecular flocculant 5 to activated sludge 4 incorporated with suspended solid-type calcium phosphate, mixing, and flocculating the sludge in a flocculation tank 6 is added to skimmed night soil 3. The materials are mixed in an agitated tank 8, and screened by a fine-mesh screen 9. The separated water 10 is biologically nitrated and denitrified 15, Ca<2+> 16 is added to the obtained activated sludge slurry, and the slurry is separated by a membrane 17. Since the difficult-to-dehydrate Al(OH)3 and Fe(OH)3 based sludge is not generated by this method, sludge treatment is drastically rationalized. In addition, the phosphorus contained in sewage can be effectively utilized for improving the dehydrating property of sludge.
