Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the running cost and the equipment cost by packing a 1st ion exchange resin group of comparatively coarse particles and a 2nd ion exchange resin group of comparatively fine particles separable by backwashing. CONSTITUTION:The 1st cation exchange resin group 23 and the 2nd cation exchange resin group 24 are charged in an ion exchange tower 2, and backwashing water is sent into the tower through a backwashing water inlet pipe 21 to carry out backwashing and settling. As a result, the 1st cation exchanging resin group 23 is separated to the lower layer from the 2nd cation exchange resin group 24 moving in upper layer because there exists comparatively large difference of particle diameter between both groups. Then, the supporting fluid consisting of air, etc., is sent from a supporting fluid inlet pipe 12 through an upper distributor 14, and the supporting fluid and regeneration waste liquid are discharged from a generation waste liquid outlet pipe 16 through a collector 15.
