Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an aqueous deodorant dispersion not contaminating a sprinkling place and useful for imparting a deodorizing property to a base material such as various paints, a synthetic resin, a synthetic fiber or paper, by preparing said dispersion body from a deodorant component and an aqueous medium and forming the deodorant component from a zinc compound and aliphatic polycarboxylic acid or a salt thereof. CONSTITUTION:In an aqueous deodorant dispersion consisting of a deodorant component and an aqueous medium, the deodorant component consists of a zinc compound and aliphatic polycarboxylic acid or a salt thereof. As the zinc compound, zinc oxide and zinc carbonate are pref. and, as aliphatic polycarboxylic acid or a salt thereof, citric acid, fumaric acid and a salt thereof is pref. In the deodorant component consisting of the zinc compound and aliphatic polycarboxylic acid or a salt thereof, the ratio of aliphatic polycarboxylic acid or a salt thereof is 90-10pts.wt. per 10-90pts.wt. of the zinc compound. The aqueous deodorant dispersion is obtained by dispersing the deodorant component in the aqueous medium. As the aqueous medium, water or a mixture of water and a water-soluble org. solvent, for example, a mixture of water and alcohol or ketone is used.
