Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an aqueous deodorant dispersion not contaminating a sprinkling place and useful for imparting a deodorizing property to a base material such as various paints, a synthetic resin, a synthetic fiber or paper, by preparing said dispersion from a deodorant component and an aqueous solution and forming the deodorant component from a zinc compound, a weak alkaline substance and, if necessary, aliphatic polycarboxylic acid or a salt thereof. CONSTITUTION:In an aqueous deodorant dispersion body consisting of a deodorant component and an aqueous medium, the deodorant component consists of a zinc compound, a weak alkaline substance and, if necessary, aliphatic polycarboxylic acid or a salt thereof. As the zinc compound, zinc oxide and zinc carbonate are pref. As the weak alkaline substance, oxide or hydroxide of an alkaline earth metal such as magnesium, calcium or barium is suitable and, as aliphatic polycarboxylic acid or a salt thereof, citric acid, fumaric acid or a salt thereof is pref. In the deodorant component, the ratio of the weak alkaline substance and aliphatic polycarboxylic acid or a salt thereof is 90-10pts.wt. per 10-90pts.wt. of the zinc compound. The aqueous deodorant dispersion body is obtained by dispersing the deodorant component in water or a mixture of water and a water-soluble solvent, for example, a mixture of water and alcohol or acetone.
