Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the stable maintaining of recorded information and to decrease the deterioration of signals by forming a recording layer of an alloy having a specific compsn. CONSTITUTION:A substrate 1 is formed of a material which is transparent and is less deteriorated with age, for example, acrylic resin such as polymethyl methacrylate or glass. The recording layer 2 is formed on this substrate 1. The recording layer 2 is formed of the alloy having the compsn. expressed by the formula (Sb100-xSex)100-yMy, where x, y are respectively in 30<=x<=97, 0<y<=20 ranges by atom.% and M is at least one kind of the element selected from Si, As, P, S, B, C, N, O, H, F and Ar. The alloy in this compsn. range can be changed in phase between the crystal state and the amorphous state and is stable in the amorphous state. The information recorded part is thereby stably maintained and the deterioration of the signals is decreased.
