Abstract
PURPOSE:To rotate a supersonic motor stably for long term, by exciting a resilient member with supersonic vibration and producing traveling wave then moving liquid contained in the resilient member and rotating a rotary member. CONSTITUTION:A supersonic motor has a flat bottomed cylindrical case 1 from which four sets of lead wires (l) are led out, and a shaft hole 1b is made through the center of the bottom. An annular resilient member 2 made of copper has outer circumferential face sticked with a piezoelectric member 3 through adhesive 4, and contained in the case 1. A rotary member 5 to be contained at the inside of the resilient member 2 comprises a disc 5a and many stripe blades 5b fixed to one face, and a rotary shaft 6 is fixed thereto. Furthermore, liquid 7 is filled into the resilient member 2, and the case 1 is closed hermetically. Upon application of voltage, respective piezoelectric members 3 excite the resilient member 2 and produce traveling wave in the inner circumferential face so as to move the liquid unilaterally. Consequently, the liquid 7 contacts with the blade 5b of the rotary member 5 and rotate the rotary member 5.
