Abstract
PURPOSE:To miniaturize the titled probe and to shorten the signal processing time by providing an acoustic retarding material of a rubber quality for allowing only a low frequency component of an ultrasonic wave to transmit through, on an acoustic radiating surface so that it is formed as one body with a probe body through a holder, and also, it can be replaced. CONSTITUTION:In an ultrasonic measuring intrument, a retarding material 4 of a rubber quality for allowing only a low frequency component of an ultrasonic wave to transmit through is provided so that it can be replaced on an ultrasonic probe body 1 through a holder 3. In such a state, a driving signal from a signal transmitter is supplied to a vibrator 2 in the body through a connector 6 and a cable 7, and an ultrasonic wave is transmitted from the vibrator 2. Subsequently, the transmitted ultrasonic wave passes through the retarding material 4 and propagated into an object to be measured 5. Next, the ultrasonic wave which is reflected from the bottom face of the object to be measured 5 is returned to the device in the reverse direction through the same path, and as for the ultrasonic signal which is returned to the vibrator 2, only the low frequency component is received substantially by an LPF effect by an ultrasonic attenuation of the retarding material 4. Accordingly, a high frequency component which is apt to become a noise component is eliminated, and satisfactory S/N is obtained.
