Abstract
PURPOSE:To simplify the display of contact load, by preliminarily calculating the relation between load and the generation frequency of acoustic emission (AE) to apply a certain specimen for measuring contact load to the part to be measured of the contact load. CONSTITUTION:A specimen 9 for measuring contact load is applied (or bonded) to the contact part 4 of rollers 20, 21 being a part to be measured and AE sensors 10 are mounted at the symmetric positions of the specimen 9 to input the outputs of said sensors to an AE analyser 13. When load 7 is applied after various devices are set, the AE signal increases as the increase of said load and data is operationally processed from the relation between the load of the specimen 9 preliminarily inputted by the analyser 13 and the AE signal and the AE signal selected from the signals of the sensors 10 and the contact load of the part to be measured is outputted. By this method, only by calibrating the specimen 9 once (preliminarily calculating the relation between the load and the generation frequency of AE or waveform evaluation parameter), the load can be measured relatively simply without requiring expert knowledge.
