Abstract

PURPOSE: To accurately orientate a second pattern without checking a printing position by matching print material to a material feed position and moving the print material to the printing position along the predetermined passageway. CONSTITUTION: The position of the print material 7', i.e., a material feed position (A) in relation to a reference value, e.g. the printer chassis 16 is established by cameras 10 and 12 and the resultant measurement values are stored in a memory of a central unit 8. The print material is moved to a printing position B wherein a second pattern 7a is formed on the print material by a squeegee 2. The distance the print material is moved is accurately predetermined. After the print material 7 and second pattern 7a are returned to the material feed position A and the position of the second pattern 7a are established at the registered position, the resultant measurement values are read and stored. The second pattern 7a is printed with the second position (B) in each subsequent print material registered in a similar manner in the first position 1 and second position (B) applied with minimized discrepancy.
