Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a recording material having favorable color forming properties and stability of developed color images, free of possibility of fogging, and being satisfactory in fastness of a developed coloring matter, by using a compound having a specified functional group, in a recording material utilizing a coloring phenomenon of a colorless dye upon contact with an electron- acceptive compound. CONSTITUTION:A polyaryloxyalkyl ester of an aromatic polycarboxylic acid is incorporated, in a recording material utilizing color formation upon contact of an electron-donative colorless dye with an electron-acceptive compound. The ester may be bis-beta-phenoxyethyl terephthalate, bis-beta-o-tolyloxyethyl terephthalate or the like, among which a compound with a melting point of 78-140 deg.C is preferable, from the viewpoints of raw preservability, enhancement of heat resistance and sensitivity. Since the ester is used after being pulverized to a particle diameter of not more than 3mum, the solubility thereof in water is not more than 1%, and it is emulsified or dispersed by previously dissolving together with the electron-acceptive compound, or is dispersed through pulverization after melting and cooling. When the ester is to be melted by heating, it is preferable to heat to the ester to a temperature of 120-180 deg.C.
