Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a discoid stock from being buckled by pressing force of a cleavage edge, and to equalize the thickness of a cleavage piece by forming the edge cross section of the cleavage edge so as to be asymmetrical against the center line. CONSTITUTION:A discoid stock 1 is inserted and held by a pair of inserting and holding tools, and rotated centering around the axis center. Subsequently, by a cleavage tool 21, a bend part of the stock 1 is cloven in the axis center direction, a cloven groove 14 is formed, and also, a pair of asymmetrical rim stocks 15, 16 are formed. The cleavage tool used in this case is rotatable against a supporting shaft 3 and its edge cross section is asymmetrical against the center line. In such a way, as for a cleavage load applied to the rim stocks 15, 16, that of the rim stock 15 side having a bend piece 11 is smaller than that of the other rim stock 16 side, no buckling is generated and the thickness of the cleavage can be equalized.
