Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain color correcting function capable of faithfully reproducing the color of an object, by providing a correction circuit for performing correction so as to display the actual color of the object with respect to both components of the brightness and color-difference signals in the image signal outputted from a camera unit to the front stage of an image memory storing said image signal. CONSTITUTION:The electrical image signal obtained by converting the light signal from an object by the imaging element mounted in an endoscope 1 is converted to a brightness signal Y and color-difference signals (R-Y), (B-Y) by a CCU 2 and subsequently digitalized by an A/D converter 3 to be inputted to a correction circuit 4. Operation is performed in the correction circuit 4 to perform correction and output using the conversion coefficient set on the basis of the optical and electrical characteristics of an electronic endoscopic apparatus itself so as to display an actual color. Each signal corrected in the correction circuit 4 to be outputted therefrom is stored in an image memory 5 and again converted to an analogue signal by a D/A converter 6 to be displayed on a display 7 and image display faithfully reproducing the color of the object becomes possible.
