Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve a shortening of analysis time and a protection of a column, by discharging unnecessary components out of the system while necessary components of an injection sample is introduced into the column. CONSTITUTION:A part of necessary components to be eluted ahead passing through a packing agent 4 are introduced into a capillary column 7 inserted into the lower end of an insert tube 3 and most thereof are trapped with a trapping tube 25 passing through a passage (e) of a split vent E from a splitter 6. After the necessary components are introduced into the column 7, simultaneously with the opening of an electromagnetic value 12, a 4-way change over valve 20 is turned to a blanking passage to flashback of the unnecessary components. A part of a carrier gas supplied from mass flow controllers 17 and 24 flows to a septum purge passage (a) and a flashing back vent passage (b). The unnecessary components flashed back through the tube 3 of a precut column on a part of the carrier gas flowing from the controller 24 is removed with the trapping tube 8 by adsorption.
