Abstract
PURPOSE:To prepare the title additive capable of providing a high-concn. coal- water slurry having prolonged service life which can be pumped and used in itself, by sulfonating a mixture of (alkyl)naphthalenen etc., condensing the sulfonation product with formaldehyde, and mixing the compd. (salt) thus obtd. with a fatty acid (salt) and a slat of polyphosphoric acid. CONSTITUTION:A mixture prepd. by mixing 40-70% (by wt.; the same shall apply hereinafter) naphthalene with 10-40% alkylnaphthalene, 1-20% anthra cene, and 1-15% diphenyl is sulfonated. The sulfonation product is condensed with formaldehyde to prepare a condensate having an average degree of conden sation of 10-500, pref. 35-100. The title additive is prepd. by incorporating as indispensable ingredients 40-90% aforesaid condensate or its salt, 30-5% 6-22C fatty acid (e.g., stearic acid), and 30-5% salt of polyphosphoric acid having at least two phosphorus atoms in its molecule and a P-O-P bond, such as sodium pyrophosphate.
