Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable an operator to speedily and exactly sense the overflow of grains by providing the upper side of a grain supply hopper with a grain tank for temporary storage of the good-quality grains sorted by sorting cylinders, opening an overflow port at the tank and returning the flowing over grains to the supply hopper. CONSTITUTION: Sized unpolished rice stagnates on a chute 9 nearly to the inlet of a sized unpolished rice tank 8 when the tank 8 is full. The sized unpolished rice flows directly or beyond a baffle plate 71 into its overflow port 72. The inflow of the sized unpolished rice is sensed by a sensor 74 and an alarm buzzer is triggered to announce the inflow to the operator. The supply of the unpolished rice from a feeding port formed at a grain milling machine is stopped according to this alarming. The unpolished rice flowing over from the overflow port 72 is stored through a passage 73 into a lower accepting hopper (grain supply hopper) 3. Consequently, the need for separately disposing a vessel for accepting the overflowing unpolished rice is eliminated and a floor space may be reduced.
