Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent an IC module from being damaged or protruded from a card base by sticking the IC module to the card material with a thermoplastic elastomer which is a specific modified block copolymer. CONSTITUTION:The thermoplastic elastomer of specific modified block copolymer is as follows. A material obtained by selectively hydrogenating the block copolymer consisting of a vinyl aromatic compound and a conjugate diene compound so that the unsaturation ratio of the part of the conjugated diene compound polymer does not exceed 20% is used as the card base and a carboxylic acid radical or its delivative radical is coupled with the card base. Styrene is especially preferable as the vinyl aromatic compound and butadiene/ isopropylene is especially preferable as the conjugated diene compound. A method for forming the elastomer like a film and sticking the film-like elastomer to a adhesive face under heating and pressing conditions to obtain a card with uniform thickness is preferably adopted.
