Abstract
PURPOSE:To control displaying suitable for a recording condition by reading and displaying a text code and a searching code at the time of reproduction both at fast speed and at constant speed respectively when character data are used as the text code for the displaying and the searching code for program searching. CONSTITUTION:The character data in a sub-code area are displayed as follows according to the reproduction at high speed and at constant speed. First at the time of the reproduction at constant speed, with a sub-code processing circuit 19, packed data as the character data of a data recording circuit 28 are read by a control circuit 30, and they are displayed through a storing circuit 31 on a display 33. At the time of the reproduction at high speed, the circuit 30 controls respective circuits and makes the reproduction condition faster by 100-times. Further, the circuit 19 stores ID data to a storing circuit 29, stores the sub-code data to a storing circuit 28, outputs them to the circuit 30, and displays on the display 33. Thus, the displaying of the character data is attained both at constant speed and at high speed.
