Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve sealing performance even when gas pressure is low by forming at least one or a part of the inner and outer circumferential surfaces and upper and lower surfaces of a seal ring into a taper surface fitting to the groove of the ring, and constituting so that the ring can be subjected to an energizing force pressing to the taper surface. CONSTITUTION:Between the upper surface 16 of a seal ring 11 and the upper surface 17 of a ring groove 9, a corrugated spring 18 is arranged to press the taper surface 14 of the seal ring 11 on the taper surface 10 of the ring groove 9, and to seal the opening on the inner circumferential surface of the jointed parts 19, 19' at the stepped part of the seal ring 1. Thus, the gap between both taper surfaces 10 and 14, and the opening between the inner circumferential surface of the jointed parts 19, 19' and the taper surface 10 are sealed to prevent the gas leakage from part A to part B, and even it the seal ring 11 rotates, gas leakage is not caused. Accordingly, even when gas pressure is low, sealing performance can be maintained in a very good condition, enabling to dispense with the conventional back-up sealing ring, and further the rotating motion of the seal ring 1 can be restrained.
