Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the adhesion of a colored film without changing the color of the obtained Ti material by converting the amorphous oxide film obtained by the anodization of a pure Ti material further into an anatase-type oxide. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a degreased pure Ti material is pickled and cleaned. The Ti material is then anodized in an aq. soln. of phosphoric acid, etc., to form the thin film of an amorphous oxide, and the surface of the Ti material is colored. The colored Ti material is then heated in a vacuum under prescribed conditions to convert the oxide film into an anatase-type oxide. By this method, the Ti material can be faced with various colors, and a colored Ti material with the excellent film adhesion can be obtained. The colored material can be appropriately used for the building materials, optical instruments, ornaments, etc., requiring an elaborate design and a beautiful appearance.
