Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve melting efficiency and thermal efficiency by constituting a reflection furnace of an open well part and melting chamber and deviating a stirrer which pushes scrap into a molten metal and stirs the molten metal from the center of the furnace body. CONSTITUTION:The reflection furnace 10 flattened at four corners is segmented by a door 14 to the melting chamber and the open well part 12 which are communicated with each other at the bottom end. The scrap is melted by a burner 18 in the melting chamber 13 and the scrap is pushed into the molten metal L from above by a pushing device 15 in the open well part 12. The stirrer 16 is provided in proximity to the furnace bottom on the outside of the furnace bottom and is deviated upward in the Y-axis direction from the intersected point O of the X-axis and Y-axis so that the molten metal L moves circulatively in the single clockwise direction shown by an arrow A. The flow of the molten metal L is thereby smoothed and the melting efficiency and thermal efficiency of the scrap are improved.
