CONSTITUTION:Heat treatment between 100-400 deg.C is maintained for long time in production process of glass by sol-gel method using alkyl silicate and silica fine particles as main raw materials. According to the above-mentioned method, removal of water, organic residue or salt, etc., remaining in sol prepared and being ineffective ingredient of glass can be sufficiently carried out. Therefore, optically high-quality glass free from foam is obtained by carrying out high-temperature sintering treatment after the above-mentioned long-term heat treatment.
