Abstract

PURPOSE: To substantially prevent a shape collapse and to ensure complete coating even when core bodies are embedded in a scrubbing brush by twill winding and entangling one or several pieces of metallic coils formed by coiling fine metallic wires into multiple layers in such a manner that the parts overlapping on each other above and below are diagonally intersected, thereby forming a massive body having a spherical or nearly spherical shape. CONSTITUTION: The metallic coils 1 are formed by crushing the fine metallic wires, such as bronze, aluminum or stainless steel to a flat shape and curling these wires to a spiral or nearly spiral shape. These coils are twill wound and entangled to the multiple layers and are made into the massive body 2 of the spherical or nearly spherical shape. Sponge which consists of a urethane foam and is formed to a cylindrical shape is used for the core bodies 3. The metallic coils formed in the coil form are twill wound to the multiple layers in such a manner and, therefore, the parts overlapping on each other above and below the metallic coils intersect with each other and the coils mesh each other. The loose and free longitudinal and lateral movements are thereby averted and consequently, the stronger entanglement is attained. The scrubbing brush maintains the initial shape of the massive body for long time. The brush does not solidify to a small size and does not become useless by the shape collapse, unlike the conventional brushes. When the core bodies are embedded, the core bodies are completely concealed and are correctly retained for long time.
