Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce the title composite plated steel sheet having high corrosion resistance by adding fine particles of a hardly soluble chromate and further >=one kind among TiO2, ZnO2, and Cr2O3 to a plating soln., and carrying out cathodic electrolysis when the steel sheet is plated with a Zn-Ni alloy. CONSTITUTION:When the surface of the steel sheet 1 is electroplated with a Zn-Ni composite plating layer, the chromates such as PbCrO4, SrCrO4, and ZnCrO4 effective for improving corrosion resistance as the hardly soluble fine particles 3 having a corrosion preventive property and one or >=two kinds among TiO2, ZrO2, and Cr2O3 are added to the Zn-Ni composite plating bath, and electrolysis is carried out with the steel sheet as a cathode. The chromate dispersed as a eutectoid in the Zn-Ni alloy plating layer 2 is partly dissolved under corrosive environment, a Cr ion (Cr<6+>) is liberated, the ion reacts with the metal of the plating layer to form a chromate film having excellent corrosion resistance, and the corrosion resistance of the stele sheet surface is remarkably improved.
