Abstract
PURPOSE:To form a radio wave absorber in which its height and weight are reduced by composing it of polymer fiber nonwoven fabric coating a conductor. CONSTITUTION:A laminated structure 1 in which nonwoven fabrics dispersed with polymer fiber 2 coated with metal are laminated is formed on a metal surface 3. The nonwoven fabrics for forming the layers are formed, for example, by dispersing nickel-coated polyacrylic nitrile fiber 2 in binder-fiber 4 made of polyethylene and polypyrene, being extremely light. As the content ratio of the fiber 1 dispersed in the fabric is increased, the equivalent dielectric constant epsilone of the whole fabric is increased in both real section epsilone' and imaginary section epsilone'', and its magnetic permeability is increased. Since the structure 1 of such multilayer has a small variation in the equivalent dielectric constant of adjacent layers when an electromagnetic wave incident to the surface 5 of the structure is propagated in the structure 1, the reflection of the wave in the boundary of the layers is suppressed, and the electromagnetic energy is gradually intaken to the layers having larger losses. Therefore, preferable electromagnetic wave absorbing characteristic is obtained in a wide band.
