Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of a pseudo gap, and to obtain a satisfactory recording/reproducing characteristic by providing a magnetic thin film for covering a boundary part of a core half body and the magnetic thin film. CONSTITUTION:A first core half body 1 is constituted of a first core base body 4, a magnetic thin film 6 which has been stuck to the end face of the side where said first core base body 4 is opposed to a second core half body 2, and a magnetic thin film 7 which has been stuck to the first core base body 4 in order to cover the surface to which a magnetic recording medium 10 of a boundary part 8 of said magnetic thin film 6 and the first core base body 4 is opposed. Accordingly, since the surface opposed to the magnetic recording medium 10 of the boundary part 8 of the first core base body 4 and the magnetic thin film 6 is not exposed, even in case a magnetic characteristic of its boundary part 8 has been deteriorated, no pseudo gap is generated due to the magnetic thin film 7. In such a way, a satisfactory recording reproducing characteristic can always be held, and a magnetic head H whose recording/reproducing characteristic is satisfactory can be obtained at a low cost without requiring a complicated manufacturing process.
