Abstract

PURPOSE:To surely feed paper sheets one by one by providing first and second separating means which are positioned in such a condition that they face the leading end part of paper sheets in a loading section, corresponding to a conveyer roller. CONSTITUTION:Paper sheets (a) in a loading section 4 abut at their leading ends against a brake pad 23 when a plurality of sheets (a) are simultaneously fed by the rotation of a kick roller 14, and then the upper layer part thereof is separated from the lower most layer so that only one paper sheet (a) in the lower most layer is taken out by a conveying roller 16. When a plurality of paper sheets superposed one upon another are even more taken out, the leading end edge is liable to enter into between a brake roller 34 and a conveying roller 16. However, the brake roller 34 cannot rotate so that a load is exerted to a superposition 32, resulting in that a friction force overcoming the friction force between the paper sheets is effected between the paper sheets (a) in the upper layer part. Accordingly, the paper sheet (a) in the lowermost layer is surely separated from the upper layer part, and therefore the paper sheet (a) in the lowermost layer alone is taken out by the rotation of the conveying roller 16.
