Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate setting of recording sheets and processing of a jam, by a method wherein feed members for conveying sheets are separately mounted to first and second openable casings, and a plurality of sheet rolls are situated so that they can be contained in the first casing. CONSTITUTION:When a jam is processed, a hook 3 is released from engagement to release a second casing B. In this case, since feed roller pairs 11 and 14 are separately situated in first and second casings A and B, along with release of the second casing B, the one recording sheet 4 is separated to the first casing A side and the other recording sheet 5 to the second casing B. Thus, when jam processing is applied on the one recording sheet 4 (or 5), the other recording sheet 5 (or 4) is not situated in an obstructing position, and when sheet rolls 4a and 5a are replaced, respective individual replacement takes place. By releasing the second casing B, the sheet rolls 4a and 5a contained in the first casing A can be simultaneously seen, and confirmation of the remaining amount can be facilitated.
