Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it possible to identify each component without dividing an unknown mixed sample into each component by observing a resultant mass spectrum of components of the unknown mixed sample and a resultant mass spectrum of components of a known mixed sample at a same time. CONSTITUTION:A sample spectrum S0 obtained with a mass spectrometer MS in a mass spectroscope U is displayed on the upper half of the display surface of a CRT display D1. Seeing the resultant mass spectrum S0 (=S01+S02) of an unknown mixed sample, a known spectrum S1 (1, 2-) of each component excepted is called via a keyboard K from a memory unit Me. If the masses called at this time are S1 and S2, they are directly combined and displayed on the lower half of the CRT, compared with S01 and S02 displayed on the upper half, and multiplied with an appropriate magnification to make a resultant mass S (AS1+BS2) of the known components to be displayed on the display D1 together with the spectrum S0. Identifying in this way, the result is printed with a printer D2.
