Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the cylindrical development of deposited snow by forming the outermost layer of an electric cable into the predetermined shape without any strand thereon and providing a projection on the lower surface of said layer. CONSTITUTION:The outermost layer 2 of an electric cable is formed to be tubular via the mutual engagement of a plurality of wires 1 having different cross section and axially extended in parallel to one another. Furthermore, a projection row 3 extending in an axial direction is provided on the lower surface of the layer 2. As a result, there is no spiral strand on the external surface of the cable and it follows that snow does not shift spirally to form a cylindrical shape or the deposit of snow does not develop via the torsional rotation of the layer 2 in a circumferential direction due to the partial load of snow. Furthermore, the projection row 3 prevents the shift of snow and deposited snow drops due to the shear force of snow itself. Therefore, the cylindrical development of deposited snow is prevented, thereby enabling obtaining a good snow-repellent type aerial bare cable.
