Abstract

PURPOSE:To apply appropriate tension to an ink film and record high-quality images, by detecting a displacement of a tension roller for pressing the ink film, and controlling the rotational frequency of a motor for driving a winding roll or the like according to the result of the detection. CONSTITUTION:A tension roller 9 is so energized as to press an ink film 4, and the resistance of a variable resistor 15 is varied according to a displacement of the roller 9. When winding is started, the displacement of the roller 9 is small, so that winding roll 6 is rotated at a high speed. As the displacement of the roller 9 approaches a reference value, the winding roll 6 performs a damped oscillation to reach a predetermined rotational frequency. When the tension on the ink film 4 is balanced with the spring force of a torsion coil spring 14 and the displacement reaches the reference value, the roll 6 is set into predetermined rotation, and recording is started. Thus, the ink film 4 can be provided with a fixed tension, and it is possible to prevent the quality of recorded images from being lowered due to unfavorable feeding of the ink film 4.
