Abstract

PURPOSE:To keep off any deformation and damage to a diaphragm by installing a closure means, which confines oil at the side of an oil chamber when the diaphragm is extended or contracted at more than the specified stroke, in an opposite part between an oil flow port in the oil chamber and the diaphragm, in case of a hydraulic vehicle suspension. CONSTITUTION:A vehicle suspension 10 puts a proper amount of oil into an oil chamber 41 in advance of gas sealing. And, when gas is sealed in a gas chamber 42 from a gas sealing port 45, a diaphragm 40 consisting of a bellows or the like is gradually extended, and a cover 47 closes a flow port 43 installed in a cylindrical member 44 before long, confining oil in the oil chamber 41 of the diaphragm 40, and excessive force is thus prevented from being locally added. Next, when an inner cylinder 13 is extended or contracted to or from an outer cylinder 12 at the time of application, damping force is produced by a flow of oil in a damping force generating part 38, and simultaneously such a function as a gas spring is also produced by expansion or contraction of the gas chamber 42. Thus, such a fear that excessive force is added to the diaphragm is prevented from occurring, and any deformation and damage or the like are prevented from occurring in the diaphragm.
