Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an emulsion in water of a crude oil free of destruction and phase transition by compounding 0.01 to 1 wt.% specific fluorine compd. surfactant and, if desired, <=2 wt.% emulsification accelerating hydrocarbon surfactant into water. CONSTITUTION: The emulsion in water of the crude oil is prepd. by compounding 0.001 to 1 wt.% fluorine compd. surfactant expressed by formula I (Rf denote a <=20C inert, stable and lipophobic and hydrophobic fluorinated aliphat. group; (n) denotes an integer from 1 to 3; A denotes a group covalently bonded with Rf and Q; Q denotes anionic, nonionic and amphoteric groups), and if desired, <=2% crude oil emulsification accelerating hydrocarbon surfactant in the water. The total weight of the fluorine compd. surfactant and the hydrocarbon surfactant is required to be specified to >=0.005 wt.% based on the weight of the emulsion.
