Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a sealing material having an excellent resistance to abrasion without any damage to other material to which it is applied, by dispersing a particulate carbonized product in a matrix. CONSTITUTION:A globular or grainy phenolic or melamine resin is heat-treated in an inert atmosphere at 300 deg.C or above to prepare a particulate carbonized product having a micro-Vickers hardness Hv of at most 300. 5-70vol.% particulate carbonized product is dispersed in a matrix of ultra-high MW PE or the like.
