Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the oxygen separating property of the title composite separation membrane by adsorbing an electron-beam polymerizable composition on the surface of a membrane consisting essentially of trimethylsilylpropylene from the vapor phase, and then projecting an electron beam to form the membrane. CONSTITUTION:The electron-beam polymerizable composition is adsorbed from the vapor phase on the surface of the membrane consisting essentially of polytrimethylsilylpropylene in the vapor atmosphere of the electron-beam polymerizable composition. An electron beam is then projected on the membrane to form the composite membrane consisting of the polytrimethylsilylpropylene and electron-beam polymerizable composition. A compd. having a perfluoroalkyl group is appropriately used as the electron-beam polymerizable composition, because the oxygen permeation coefficient is not deteriorated by the compd. The weight ratio of the electron-beam polymerizable composition to the polytrimethylsilylpropylene in the composite membrane is appropriately controlled to <=0.50.
