Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the title substance by allowing an acylating agent to act on 6-acyl-7-deacetylforskolin derivative into a 1,6,7-triacyl derivative (a novel substance), then removing the acyl group in the 1-position by solvolysis. CONSTITUTION:An acylating agent such as acetic anhydride (2-4 fold moles) is allowed to act on a compound of formula I (R<2> is acyl; R<3> is 2-3C hydrocar bon group) at 0 deg.C to room temperature for several minutes to 2hr to form 1,6,7-triacyl-7-deacetylforskolin derivative (a novel substance) of formula II. Then, the product is preferably hydrolyzed to give a compound of formula III. The hydrolysis is carried out in a solvent in the presence of a base or acid at 0 deg.C to room temperature for 5min-3hr. The solvent is preferably an aqueous alcohol of 1-4C carbon atoms, containing 0.5-20V/V% of water. Thus, the compound of formula III which is expectantly used as a medicines is obtained in high yield.
