Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable simultaneous replacement of a plurality of cutting tools by engaging a head magazine having a plurality of head clamp mechanisms rotatably with a rotary shaft then bearing rotatably on a moving member displacable in axial direction. CONSTITUTION:A rotary shaft 106 rotatable through an index motor is provided at machining device body section of a turret type machine tool and engaged slidably with a head magazine 56 having a plurality of head clamp mechanisms 116, while furthermore engaged rotatably with a moving member 70 of a shift mechanism 54. When a cutting tool 48 fixed to a turret head 44 of a machine tool is replaced, a new turret head 172 is grasped through a head clamp mechanism 116 which is not facing with a head holder 42, then the turret head 44 is removed through axial displacement of the moving member 70 and rotation of the head magazine 56 and a new turret head 172 is mounted on the holder 42. In such a manner, a plurality of cutting tools can be replaced simultaneously.
