Abstract

PURPOSE:To simply and surely confirm the present place by calculating a distance between a broadcasting station and the present place from a frequency of a broadcast received by a radio receiver and the electric field strength. CONSTITUTION:A frequency of a broadcast received by a radio receiver 1 is detected by a received frequency detecting device 2, and electric field strength of the broadcast received by the radio receiver 1 is detected by an electric field strength detecting device 3. In a memory 6, a frequency of each broadcasting station and its broadcasting output are stored in advance. In this state, based on the detected frequency, the broadcasting output of the receiving broadcasting station is read out of the memory 6, and from this broadcasting output and the detected electric field strength, a distance extending from the broadcasting station to the present place is calculated by a CPU 4. An output of a result of calculation is sent to a monitor 8 through a monitor controller 7, and a spot separated by a calculated distance is displayed on a map with regard to plural broadcasting stations. In such a way, the present place can be confirmed surely without providing a new transmitting station.
