Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a high pressure rheometer whose structure and control are both simple by installing a chamber in which a passage is pierced in the center part, in a rack base, and inserting a plunger to which a pressure device for applying static pressure to a sample in this passage is coupled, into both sides of the passage, respectively. CONSTITUTION:Plungers 21, 22 which are coupled to hydraulic cylinders 25, 26 are inserted into both sides of passages 5, 6 of a chamber 1. The cylinders 25, 26 are installed in the same frame 27, and this frame 27 is attached through a linear actuator 24 for moving forward and backward in the directions of the passages 5, 6, to a rack base 23 to which the chamber 1 is attached. In such a state, to a sample which is packed to the passages 5, 6 having an orifice 11, static pressure is applied by the cylinders 25, 26 is applied. Also, by moving forward and backward repeatedly the linear actuator 24, dynamic pressure works alternately, and the sample flows repeatedly in the orifice 11. A flow rate of the sample, and its viscosity can be calculated from reading of displacement gauges 36, 37, and by the relation to dynamic pressure when the flow rate is derived, respectively.
