Abstract
PURPOSE:To attempt the prevention of interference between rear cylinders and a clutch housing and the miniaturization of an engine as well by letting each center line of rear right and left cylinders against each center line of front right and left cylinders be displaced to the axial direction of a crank shaft at the opposite side of a clutch. CONSTITUTION:An engine 12 is equipped with an upper crank case 22a and the like including both front right and left cylinders 21a and rear right and left cylinders 21a both of which are slanted in a V-shape configuration. And each journal section 32 through 34 of a crank shaft 31 is supported by each main bearing 35 through 37 respectively in a joint surface of the upper crank case 22a with the lower crank case. And the rotation of the crank shaft 31 is designed to be transmitted to rear wheels via a crank gear 54, a clutch gear 55, a clutch 56 and the like. In this constitution, each center line 12 and 12' of the rear right and left cylinders 21b against each center line 11 and 11' of the front right and left cylinders 21a is displaced to the axial direction of the crank shaft 31 at the opposite side of the clutch 56.
