Abstract

PURPOSE:To evade the omission of an image and a failure such as difficulty in reading by automatically setting a subscanning moving range based on a size signal for selecting the size of a print corresponding to the size of a projected image on a screen. CONSTITUTION:Light transmitted through a microfilm is enlarged by a projecting lens so as to project the enlarged film image on a screen 204 or to radiate it on a photodetector so that the film image is read to print out the read image in a prescribed size. The print size corresponding to the size of the projected image on the screen 204 is selected with a selection switch 501 and the subscanning moving range is automatically set based on a size signal. Thus, the failure that the size of image is not suitable for print paper or that the magnification in a main scanning direction and the magnification in a subscanning direction are deviated can be evaded. And also the failure of the difficulty in reading the image can be prevented from occurring.
