Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an economical tracheal tube equipped with a cuff reduced in the deformation or shift degree of a cuff, by providing a gap forming means between an inside cuff and a tube and forming the gap communicating with the inside of the tube through a vent hole between the inside cuff and the tube. CONSTITUTION:When the pressure of the gas in an airway gas passage 2 rises to reach the pressure in an air chamber 9 or more, the gas in an airway flows in the passage 2 from an airway internal pressure introducing port 3 to push an airway internal pressure applying cuff 4 separating the airway gas and the gas in the air chamber 9 to a place where both pressures are well-balanced. That is, a trachea sealing cuff 5 compresses the inner wall 7 of the trachea of a patient by the pressure corresponding to the airway internal pressure at that time through the gas in the cuff 5. Then, the trachea sealing cuff 5 is pressed from the lung side by the airway internal pressure to be deformed but the deformation thereof is relaxed by the expansion of the airway internal pressure applying cuff 4. Therefore, even when the pressure difference between the lung side of the airway and the larynx side becomes large, the strain of the trachea sealing cuff 5 does not become too large and the positional shift of the cuff 5 is not almost generated.
