Abstract
PURPOSE:To bond overlapped ear edges satisfactorily and uniformly by sticking magnetic powder on an ear edge portion of a plastic tape in advance, overlapping the ear edges and guiding them into the alternating magnetic field, and heating the magnetic powder. CONSTITUTION:When a cable core 1 travels in the arrow 2 direction and a laminate tape 3 is fed, magnetic powder 9 is stuck to ear edges of the tape 3 by a pressing roller 10. The tape 3 stuck with the magnetic powder 9 on the inner face of one ear edge 4 is tubed before being inserted into a heating insulating box 5, and ear edges are overlapped. When the tape 3 proceeds into the heat insulating box 5 under this condition, a high-frequency current is fed to a high-frequency induction coil 7. The magnetic powder 9 is heated by the alternating magnetic field generated by this high-frequency current. This heat melts and softens the plastic tape of the tape 3. As a result, the ear edge portions 4 of the tape 3 are bonded satisfactorily. The ear edge portions are thereby bonded more completely.
