Abstract

PURPOSE:To select a graphic at high speed from the large quantity of graphic data by providing a means for storing a number determined correspondingly to the graphic and a means for detecting the graphic present in the vicinity of an inputted picture point from this means and reading the number. CONSTITUTION:A graphic data storage device 101 stores the graphic data as shown in the drawing. Herein, ID 100 indicates the straight lines of start points X1, Y1 and end points X2, Y2 and ID 200 indicates the circle of the center, X, Y and a radius R. Such graphic data is read in a display control circuit 102, raster developed and the data is applied to a graphic selecting information holding picture memory 105 and a displaying picture memory 106 as an address signal. The ID from the device 101 is respectively written in the memories 105, 106 through a register according to an address signal from the circuit 102 together with color information. The picture point inputted from a picture point input device 107 is inputted to a graphic selection controller 108, then, the controller reads the ID present in the vicinity of the input picture point from the memory 105 and transmits to a host computer.
