Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration and destruction of a nonlinear resistance element and a row (column) electrode and a picture element electrode which are adjacent to the nonlinear resistance element by connecting the nonlinear resistance element and a resistance element in series between the row (column) electrode and the picture element electrode. CONSTITUTION:The nonlinear resistance element 2 is connected through the row (column) electrode 3 and the picture element electrode 1. By changing the shape and the quality of the film of the terminal 1a of the picture element electrode (a part where a part of the picture element electrode 1 is connected to the nonlinear resistance element 2) or the terminal 3a of the row (column) electrode (a part branching to the respective picture element electrodes 1 from the row (column) electrode 3), a device obtains a form equal to connecting the resistance element of high resistance and the nonlinear resistance element 2 in series, which are made of the same material and have the same constitution. Thus, the deterioration and the destruction of the nonlinear resistance element and the row (column) electrode adjacent to the nonlinear resistance element can be prevented.
