Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance accuracy and to reduce cost, by using a molded product formed from polyanilin or a composition consisting of a derivative thereof and polyanilin or a high-molecular compound different from said derivative as a carrier of enzyme. CONSTITUTION:An enzyme electrode is formed by immobilizing enzyme on a molded product formed from polyanilin or a composition consisting of a derivative thereof and polyanilin or a high-molecular compound different from said derivative. This polyanilin or the derivative thereof is obtained by an electrolytic polymerization method for electrolytically oxidizing anilin or a derivative thereof on an anode composed of a platinum or gold substrate in an acid solution. Herein, when polyanilin or the derivative thereof is obtained by the electrolytic polymerization method, one obtained using an electrolyte composed of a composition containing anilin at concn. of 1-6mol./l in the presence of hydrochloric acid, hydrogen borofluoride or acetic acid is especially pref. As the high-molecular compound, a fluorocarbon resin such as polytetrafluoroethylene is used.
