Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to efficiently remove scales including various kinds of hardness components utilizing a small amount of a cleaning fluid for a short period of time by circulating a cleaning fluid on one side of a heat transfer surface and a working fluid on the other side thereof to adjust the pH value of the cleaning fluid to dissolve and exfoliate scales of various kinds of hardness components. CONSTITUTION:At the time of effectively utilizing heat in a heat exchanger 11, valves 13, 15, 18 and 19 are opened, and valves 14, 16, 23 and 24 are closed. Fresh water is raised in temperature by heat recovered from geothermal water. In contrast, at the time of scale removing operation, valves 14, 16, 23 and 24 are opened, and valves 13, 15, 18 and 19 are closed. Geothermal water is circulated to the fresh water circulation side of the heat exchanger 11, and a cleaning fluid of a strong alkalinity having a high pH value is circulated on the geothermal water circulation side. At the time of operation effectively utilizing heat, the temperature of geothermal water heat-recovered is lowered, and the solubility of silica is lowered and scales mainly containing silica components are attached to the heat transfer surface.
