Abstract
PURPOSE: To sabely obtain an ultrahigh-purity oxygen by constituting a distillation column of two columns, removing high-b.p. impurities in a first column, removing low-b.p. impurities in a second tower and cooling a raw material gas, if necessary, utilizing a cold of discharged nitrogen gas obtained from a distillation column condenser. CONSTITUTION: An oxygen storage tank 1 is directly coupled to distillation column 6 through a duct 5, and a duct 3 having a pre-cooler 4 provided at the middle in parallel with the duct 5 is connected to the oxygen storage tank 1 and the distillation column 6. The top of the column 6 is coupled to a distillation column 10 through a duct 9. The bottoms of the columns 6, 10 are coupled through ducts 8, 12, which are branched at intermediate parts and coupled to the columns 6, 10 through reboilers 7, 11. Ducts 14, 15 are coupled to a liq. nitrogen storage tank 2 and coupled to ends of condensers 16, 17 and the other end of the condenser 17 is coupled to ducts 18, 25 coupled to an air separator 21 and duct 19 branched from the middle of the ducts 18, 25 is coupled to one end of a condenser 20 in a pre-heater 4, and the other end of the condenser 16 is coupled to the duct 19 through a duct 22, thus sabely obtaining an ultrahigh-purity oxygen.
