Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve heat efficiency by making high heat exchanging ratio of high temp. gas and scrap, by arranging plural steps of gas blowing holes at side part, etc., to burn coke and passing generated high temp. gas through the scrap zone. CONSTITUTION:The plural steps of gas blowing holes 2-1, 2-2 at the side part and tuyeres 3 at furnace bottom are arranged at cylindrical melting furnace 1. Next, the coke is charged to the level at higher than the lowest step of gas blowing holes 2-1 level and lower than the upper step of gas blowing holes 2-2 level. Further, the scrap is charged on the coke packing zone 6. Next, gas for aiding combustion is blown from the above blowing holes 2-1 and/or the above tuyeres 3. Then, generated CO gas is burnt in the scrap packing zone 5 to melt the scrap.
